Overview

FlipScore ("we", "our", or "us") is operated as a sole proprietorship. This Privacy Policy explains what information FlipScore collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account info
When you create an account we collect your email address and a hashed password via Firebase Authentication.
Scan & analysis data
When you scan an item, the image or URL you submit is sent to the Anthropic Claude API for analysis and to the eBay API for market pricing data. Images are not stored. The analysis result, verdict, and pricing data are stored in your account.
Inventory data
Item records you create — including purchase price, sale price, dates, platform, and notes — are stored in your account in Firebase Firestore.
Usage data
We track your scan count and description generation count to enforce subscription limits. This data is stored in Firebase Firestore.
Device & analytics
We collect anonymous usage events via Firebase Analytics — such as screens viewed and features used — to understand how the app is used and improve it. This data is not linked to your identity.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide the FlipScore analysis, inventory, and reporting features
  • Enforce subscription tier limits
  • Process subscription payments via Google Play Billing
  • Improve the app based on anonymous usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.

Third-Party Services

FlipScore uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Data Retention

Your account data is retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your data is deleted from our systems within 30 days.

Your Rights

  • Request deletion of your account and data — see Account Deletion below for full details
  • Export your inventory and sales data using the CSV export feature within the app

Account Deletion

You can delete your FlipScore account and all associated data at any time.

In the app
Open FlipScore, then go to Preferences → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, scan history, inventory, and usage records. The action cannot be undone.
By email
If you've uninstalled the app or prefer to request deletion manually, email delete@flipscore.co with the subject "Account Deletion Request" and the email address associated with your account. We will process the request within 30 days.
What's deleted
Your profile, all inventory items, all scan history, all usage records, and your authentication record. This deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
What's retained
Anonymized aggregate analytics that contain no personally identifiable information.
Active subscriptions
Deleting your FlipScore account does not automatically cancel any active Google Play subscriptions. Please cancel your subscription separately through your Google Play account.

Children's Privacy

FlipScore is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security

We use Firebase's built-in security features including encrypted data transmission and Firestore security rules that restrict access to your own data only.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
